Musha weVana Appeal 2017

HELP MUSHA 2017 !

As you may know, there is a children’s orphanage in Marondera – visited and supported by Springvale, Ruzawi and Peterhouse over many years – called Musha weVana. It is home to 82 children, the youngest of whom is only 2 years old. Sadly, with the economic challenges of recent years, the living conditions for these children have deteriorated.

We are launching a comprehensive refurbishment and renewal project and we would love your help. Sponsors have already been found for all the major works of re-roofing the four houses and renovating the kitchens and bathrooms. Now we need to renew the contents of the houses.

We have prepared a “Musha weVana Wish List” which is attached to this letter and posted on the Peterhouse website. Please have a look and see if there is anything you have spare that you could give, or an item you’d like to buy. The children need anything and everything, from bed sheets and plates, to fridges and bunk beds!

If every Peterhouse household could give just one thing, this would make a miraculous difference to the lives of these children living at Musha weVana. And of course, this is not restricted to Peterhouse families, so do ask friends and family join in – you never know, getting rid of unused, unwanted items may be exactly what they have been wanting to do for years! Used items should be in a “loved but lasting” condition.

You could send some items to us with your children as they return from Fixture Free – there will be a collection space in each boarding house – or for larger items, email us and we will arrange collection.

If you have any questions at all, please email us at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.

With love and huge thanks in advance,

Vix Stott (The Chaplain’s wife!) and the entire Musha weVana team.
